International jury: President: Mr. Jensen (DEN-UCI) The 46th Brabant Arrow" is organised by W.S.C. Rode Sportief Beersel (Chemin Courbe, 31 - B-1640 Rhode-Saint-Genèse - Belgium) in collaboration with the newspapers Het Nieuwsblad and La Capitale under the regulations of the International Cycling Union. It is to be held on sunday, March 26th, 2006. The event is open to athletes of the Men Elite categories. The event is entered on the U.C.I. Europe Tour calendar (Continental calendar) and is registered as a class 1.1. event. In conformity with the U.C.I. rules, points are awarded as follows for the U.C.I. Continental Men Elites ranking for one day races : 1) 80 2) 56 3) 32 4) 24 5) 20 6) 16 7) 12 8) 8 9) 7 10) 6 11) 5 and 12) 3 points. This race also counts for the Team ranking and the Country ranking for the Continental Europe Tour. As per article 2.2.005 of the U.C.I. regulations, the event is open to the following teams : U.C.I. ProTeams (max. 50%), U.C.I. Professional Continental Teams, U.C.I. Continental Teams and National Teams. As per article 2.2.003 of the U.C.I. regulations, teams must be formed of minimum 5 and maximum 8 riders. The race headquarters at the start shall be open starting sunday, March 26th, 2006, from 8:45 till 11:45 am, at the Koninklijk Atheneum, Hoogstraat 50 - 1930 Zaventem (at the crossover with the Parklaan), phone +32-(0)2-720.30.12. Team representatives are requested to confirm their starters and collect their race numbers at the race headquarters from 8:45 till 9:45 am, sunday, March 26th, 2006. The team managers meeting, organized in accordance with article 1.2.087 of the U.C.I. regulations, in the presence of the Members of the Commissaires Panel, is scheduled for 10:00 am at the Koninklijk Atheneum, Hoogstraat 50 - 1930 Zaventem. Race information will be broadcast on Radio Tour frequency 164.510 MHz, provided by the K.B.W.B. The technical support service is handled by Libema Service Support. The neutral support is taken care of by means of 3 cars and 1 motorbike. Any rider finishing in a time exceeding that of the winner by more than 5% shall not be placed. The time limit may, in exceptional circumstances, be increased by the Commissaires Panel in agreement with the organizer. The following classification will be issued : the classification following the order of crossing the finishing line at the end of the last local tour. There are no other classifications or time bonuses available. The U.C.I. antidoping regulations are entirely applicable to the event. Moreover, and in conformity with the law of Belgium, the belgian antidoping legislation is applicable in addition to the U.C.I. antidoping regulations. The anti-doping tests will take place at Congress Center De Meent, (new entry) - Gemeenveldstraat, 34 - 1652 Alsemberg (Beersel), level -1. In accordance with article 1.2.112 of the U.C.I. rules, the following riders must attend the official awards ceremony: the first three riders of the event. The riders will present themselves at the podium in a time limit of maximum 5 minutes after crossing the finish line. The U.C.I. penalty scale is the only one applicable. President François Demol Mr. Pascal Demol - Race Director Dr. W. Jacobs is leading the medical service. During the race, the following medical services are available: 1) immediately behind the first official K.B.W.B. car follows the car with the first doctor in the race Dr. W. Jacobs; 2) the car, with the doctors, Dr. J. Hendrickx & Dr. S. Verheye, follows the fourth car of the K.B.W.B.; 3) two ambulances of the "Red Cross" Vlaams-Brabant follow the race at the back; 4) at the finish, the "Red Cross" Vlaams-Brabant is present in the aid post to help with a first-aid assistance. There is a special parking lot for the riders and their technical assistance at the parking of the Gemeentelijk Zwembad (swimming pool) De Motte, H. Henneaulaan (Park Mariadal) in Zaventem. A parking lot is available for the team managers at the Koninklijk Atheneum, Hoogstraat 50, in Zaventem. At the start, the riders who want to change themselves can do this at the Gemeentelijk Zwembad (swimming pool) De Motte, H. Henneaulaan (Park Mariadal) in Zaventem. 11:15 - 12:05 am : signature of the departure check-in on the podium start (Kerkplein in Zaventem). The supplies are situated on the Zoniënwoudlaan (Rhode-St-Genèse) between number 32 and the crossover with the Fonteinstraat (boards indicating the start and the end of the supply area) and operate at the end of the large lap (km 106,1) and in each local lap except the last lap. There are no railway crossings on the route of The Brabant Arrow 2006. "START" banner at the departure in procession. Markers at 0 km (the real start) and after 50 km. The red flame at 1km from the finish and markers at 500m, 300m, 200m, 150m, 100m and 50m from the finish. Over the finish there is a metallic structure that reads "FINISH". There are signs at the supply area. There will be no banners over the road between the red flame and the finish. At the finish there will be a board indicating how many local laps remain. 5 local laps will be completed by the competitors. Distance: from Zaventem to Alsemberg (Beersel) 110 km + 5 local laps of 16 km = 190 km. The finish will be judged at the Alsembergsteenweg at Alsemberg. Any competitor who withdraws must hand in his number to the Commissaire in the sweeping car. The race headquarter Finish at Alsemberg, reserved for the Officials and the Press, is located at "Congress Center De Meent", (new entry) - Gemeenveldstraat, 34 - 1652 Alsemberg (Beersel), phone +32-(0)475.26.89.93 & +32-(0)479.24.26.24. There is a special parking lot for the teams at the Alsembergsteenweg, 400 meter after the finish line at the right side (Parking Cemetary Vorst). All followers must be in possession of an official pass. The Race Director will exclude person(s) and/or car(s), which have not the required pass or in possession of other pass not delivered by the organisation, or, putting the security of the race in danger. Neither the Race Direction nor the Organization "WSC Rode Sportief Beersel" may be taken responsible for accidents before, during and after "The Brabant Arrow". The driver of a follower car is always responsible for his/her own behaviour. There is a special parking lot for the press at the Parking De Meent. The followers can park their car at the Parking Colruyt. Near at the finish are several changing rooms for the riders at Sports center Kerkeveld, sports hall Dworp, Dealer Peugeot Ollivier, Bicycles Godeau and café "De Voetbal". The teams will receive a mail from the organisation some days before the event with the attribuation of a changing room for each team. After the race the winner is accompanied by the Organisation to go first to the podium for the honours ceremony. Next, they go to the TV-interview. After this, the winner (with accompaniment of a commissaire) has to go to the pressroom (maximum 20 minutes) and to the anti-doping tests. Finally the winner must spend some time at the reception : Congress Center De Meent, (new entry) - Gemeenveldstraat, 34 - 1652 Alsemberg (Beersel). Any team under contract who is absent will be fined according to U.C.I. regulations. Only the Belgian jurisdiction applies in the case of a dispute. |
